Dai Han Pharm. Co., Ltd. manufactured the first infusion in glass bottles in 1953 and opened up the history of infusion in Korea. Dai Han Drug Industry developed not only plastic containers for infusion but also a machine to manufacture the plastic containers to have continued the history of infusion in Korea.

Through the opportunity of looking back to the past development history of infusion by the Dai Han Pharm. Co., Ltd. who has played such a big role of the development process of the container for infusion in Korea, we shall examine the history of infusion in Korea, namely, what kind of process current infusion went through in Korea.

Dai Han Drug Chemical Industry established a Korea Special Glassblower Industry at Geumam-dong, Gunsan in order to make the glass bottle for infusion right after resuming its business at a refugee of Gunsan.
Before making a mold for glass bottle, it was the plasma product to substitute glucose infusion and plasma infusion made temporarily by observing an ampule manufacturing method for insufficient demand. As its shape looks after the bomb shape, it was the first infusion called as a bomb shape infusion.

After a mold was completed for manufacturing glass bottle, and glass bottles for infusion were manufactured by Korea Special Glassblower Industry, Dai Han Drug Chemical Industry (currently Dai Han Pharm. Co., Ltd.) made the first glass bottle for infusion in Korea.

Early infusion set was not mounted with an air filter like today, so that an air tube was installed for easy administration of infusion.

This polyethylene infusion container was the first plastic container for infusion in Korea, which was introduced by Rommelag of Germany in 1977.

As there arose a demand for infusion in plastic material and bag type, PVC material was used to make a bag-type container for infusion in 1989, which used to be a bottle-type container. It is not being manufactured now.

It is a traditional glass bottle for infusion. Currently, the plastic container for infusion has been used mainly. However, Dai Han Pharm. Co., Ltd. has been manufacturing this glass bottle for infusion in order for various needs from clinical practice even though its demand is low.

ISPP containers, developed in 1992, were replaced by light-weight and unbreakable PP bottles that are produced up to present.

It is the infusion in non-PVC container manufactured since 1998 in order to substitute the infusion in PVC material.

It is the container of plastic material [PP] as the injection & stretching engineering has been used for Polypropylene material with the shape of glass bottle. It has characteristics of both glass bottle container and plastic container and has been manufactured until now.

Dai Han Pharm. Co., Ltd. has been manufacturing diverse infusion such as special infusion of amino acid infusion, Plasma volume expander, and TPN infusion around the basic infusion in several types of containers as above. We have secured our position as a company specialized for infusion solution but also succeeded and developed a spirit of national health.
